Rubik is an ancient historical center of Mirdita. The Rubik's Pictograms are evidence of ancient rock art in mountain caves, as are the frescoes in the apse of the "Church of the Redemption", which testify to the Byzantine style of church painting. Matriz Castle on a Rubik's hill is a medieval fortress on the Lezhë - Nish road. In the 20th century, Rubik was one of the important industrial centers of Albania, with mining, metallurgy, copper refining plant, geological enterprise, etc. In recent years, it has been mentioned for the development of agrotourism in some traditional guesthouses and towers, mainly in the area of the Old Town. In Rubik, there is the Info-Kulla, the tourism promotion center of Mirdita Municipality, which informs tourists about inns, trails and tourist addresses in the northeastern region, Lezhë, Mat, Pukë, Kukës, etc. An outstanding contribution to the development of tourism in Rubik and other deep areas of Mirdita (Spaç, Trang, etc.) has been made and is made by the Austrian humanist Marianne Graf.
